Groove in G

We started this track in West Africa with a musical group named Tinariwen. We asked them to play a groove in the key of G, then as we traveled the world we added more musicians to the song. Over the course of our travels it transformed into a global jam with its roots in the blues.

Tinariwen is a band created in the early 80s by Tuareg musicians from northern Mali's Kidal region. Their music, often designed as "Blues from the desert," is a deep expression of the suffering of the Tuareg people and their life in the Saharan desert. Ibrahim Ag Alhabib, the band leader, was a rebel years ago, but he now preaches peace trough music. Since the end of the 90s the band has been performing all over the world, bringing a unique sound to the audience and representing the culture of the Tuareg people. Over the years, Tinariwen has shared the stage with artists such as Carlos Santana, Robert Plant or Herbie Hancock.

Tinariwen es una banda creada en los años 80 por músicos tuareg de la región de Kidal norte de Malí. Un tipo de música a menudo definida como "Blues del desierto," expresión profunda del sufrimiento del pueblo tuareg y su vida en el desierto del Sahara. Ibrahim Ag Alhabib, el líder de la banda, fue un rebelde que ahora predica la paz a través de la música.

Desde finales de los años 90 la banda ha estado tocando por todo el mundo, aportando un sonido único a la audiencia y en representación de la cultura del pueblo tuareg.
